DUBAI: Battle Cancer, a global fundraising organization, organized a fitness event that allowed participants to raise money for local cancer charities, over the weekend, on Saturday, a first-of-its-kind fitness event was held in the emirate.
The event was supported by the Dubai Sports Council and XDubai. The Dubai Cancer Battle took place on March 19 from 8:30 am at the Nass Sports Complex.
Battle Cancer aims to help people with cancer by providing inspiration in dark moments and supporting them in recovery by connecting a supportive community united by fun and fitness. Since its inception in 2017, Battle Cancer has raised over AED 11.9 million (£2.4 million) for more than 50 cancer charities worldwide.
Battle Cancer Dubai is a functional fitness challenge for teams of four, encouraging the teams to raise as much as possible for their chosen cancer charity. Charities supported through YallaGive include Al Jalila Foundation and the Emirates Red Crescent.
In addition to doing four fitness exercises, teams were signed up for Battle Cancer Fundraising AMRAP (as much as possible collected). The more money you collect, the higher the score. Battle Cancer workouts included teamwork, high-intensity cardio, fun fitness, and accessible weights.
