Taliban cabinet approves ‘Commission for Repatriations of Afghan Personalities’

KABUL: Taliban cabinet on Wednesday approved a plan to set up a commission for the return and communication of Afghan personalities. The aim of creating a commission is to pave the way for the repatriations of Afghan personalities to the country.

According to the cabinet decision, the commission will be headed by Mawlavi Shahabuddin Delawar, local media reported.

Taliban cabinet also approved a regulation on the coordination of defence lawyers in view of the amendments.

Same like, the Cabinet directed the Economic Commission to consider the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce for the establishment of Special Economic Zones and present the result to the next Cabinet meeting.

The cabinet as well decided to refrain from posting pictures of Islamic Emirate leaders on cars.

The meeting focused the existing problems in the field of land transport and the proposals of transport companies.

The Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate, after extensive discussions, appointed a delegation of representatives of the relevant bodies to resolve the issue of land transport.

As a day earlier, Acting Minister of Interior Alhaj Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with Deborah Lyond, Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan.
In the meeting, Deborah Lyond thanked the MM staff for their support, as well as the Ministry of Interior’s full cooperation and coordination.
Ms. Lyons described the meetings held at the United Nations on Afghanistan as very positive and said that many countries are interested in cooperating with the Islamic Emirate.
“Afghanistan is now the focus of attention of all nations,” added. She pledged to continue cooperating and working together on humanitarian aid, attracting foreign donors, as well as counter-narcotics cultivation and trafficking.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani thanked Ms. Lyons for presenting a true picture of Afghanistan at the relevant UN meetings and assured her that the Islamic Emirate is committed to the security of foreign organizations and wants a peaceful life and relations with the world.
