Iran nationals can get Romanian visa to exit Ukraine

Date:

TEHRAN: Iran’s embassy in Romania has announced that Iranian nationals residing in Ukraine can apply for a visa at Romanian diplomatic missions in Ukraine.

The Iranian embassy issued a statement, urging Iranian nationals in Ukraine to apply for a visa at Romanian diplomatic centers in Chisinau, Cernăuți, Cahul, and Bălți or receive visas at Romania-Ukraine border points such as Halmeu and Siret Sighetu Marmaţiei in a direct process.
The statement informs the Iranian nationals that they can ask for additional information or any support by calling phone number 0040761121802 or connecting WhatsApp number 00989122442208.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously working on the safe exit of Iranian nationals from the war-hit Ukraine.
“Providing the security and safety of the Iranian expatriates in Ukraine are our priority,” Amirabdollahian said in his phone talk with Lavrov.
The Iranian FM also held a phone call with his Slovak counterpart Ivan Korcok, discussing the situation of Iranians residing in Ukraine.
Korcok stressed that Iranian citizens can enter Slovakia through the borders of Ukraine and then travel to Iran.
The National Airline of Iran, branded as Iran Air, has declared readiness to dispatch special flights to Ukraine for evacuating Iranian nationals.
On Tuesday, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh urged both Russia and Ukraine to show restraint.
Khatibzadeh on Thursday, referring to the recent developments in the Ukraine crisis, expressed regret over the start of military action and the escalation of the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.
He went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran is monitoring the developments in Ukraine with sensitivity, unfortunately,  provocative measures and interventions by the United States led to the drastic escalation of tensions, and that the continuation of US-backed NATO provocations has led to a situation in which the Eurasian region is on the verge of entering a comprehensive crisis.
Iran has called on a ceasefire and immediate talks to find a political solution to the crisis and reiterates the need to respect international and humanitarian laws in military conflicts.
