LONDON: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has travelled a long journey in the United Kingdom to visit a factory near Manchester, according to a video that surfaced just a day after a report from his doctor was submitted before the Lahore High Court claiming that he was not fit to travel.
His visit to the Manchester factory was reported by official Pakistan Television (PTV).
The state-run TV said that Nawaz Sharif visited a factory located in Nelson, which is around 400km from London. He was accompanied by his sons and was briefed about business affairs.
A video of Nawaz Sharif at the factory was also widely shared on social media on Wednesday by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters, who criticized the former prime minister.
Hussain Nawaz, meanwhile, has said that the video is four months old and Nawaz Sharif visited the area to experience a change of environment so that his health could improve.
Sharif’s lawyers had submitted his fresh medical report in the Lahore High court on Tuesday.
The three-page report prepared by Doctor Fayaz Shawl advised him against travel before getting a coronary angiography. Any kind of travel amid the pandemic and his current medical condition could put his life in danger, the report said.
