YAOUNDE: Mohamed Salah inspired Egypt to a place in the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals on Sunday as the record seven-time champions came from behind to beat Morocco 2-1 after extra time in their Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Sunday.
Morocco went ahead in the seventh minute from a penalty converted by Sofiane Boufal but Egypt came storming back as they dominated the game with Salah scoring in the 53rd minute.
Star player Salah said after collecting man of the match award “Now it is time to focus on Cameroon and we go from there but the players gave everything today as in each game and hopefully we will carry on winning, “Our goal is to make the people in Egypt happy.”
