A joint protest rally by Mutehida Quami Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) held in Karachi against the newly amended Local Bodies act, on Sunday.
MQM gave the call for the rally as thousand of people marched with party flags towards Karachi Press Club. Women and children also reached in the protest from different parts of city by the buses and other vehicles. Party’s workers chanted slogans against Sindh govt and demanded immediate withdrawal of the law.
Due to protest rally all roads around Karachi Press Club were blocked while traffic moving slow, party workers managing the traffic along with the traffic police.
MQM spokesman said, Many vehicles heading towards Malir, Shah Faisal Colony and other adjourning areas stuck in the traffic at Shahr e Faisal and Shahr e Pakistan from F B Area and Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, north Karachi and Orangi Town.
Leaders of MQM, PTI and GDA addressed the rally demand Sindh govt to take the law back and make a new suitable one for the effective delivery of services to the people of the province.
