KARACHI: Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) organized three-day exercise Barracuda-XI from January 11 to 13 2022. Sea phase of exercise commenced on the last day of the exercise. Sea and air units of all stake holders including Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qsim Authority, CENERGYCO proceeded to sea in the designated area with foreign observers, undertook complex manoeuvres and laid out counter oil spill gear at sea displaying contingency response to such a disaster.
This was followed by a Search & Rescue Exercise, in which assets personnel from PN, PMSA, PAF and SUPARCO participated. Finally an impressive Skim past by ships and Fly past by air units was conducted.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Maritime Affair, Mahmood Baqi Moulvi graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He boarded PMSS KOLACHI and reviewed all the proceedings and drills. In the end, media brief of the Exercise was conducted onboard PMSA ship KOLACHI. Media personnel were briefed about aims, objectives and various aspects of the exercise. Chief Guest and foreign observers appreciated professionalism and skills displayed by PN, PMSA and all civil and military stakeholders.
